GREEN-X and Duke Center for International Development Foster Global Collaboration on Green Policy Research

March 9, 2026

On the afternoon of March 9, the Smart Green Transformation Center (GREEN-X) welcomed a group of research fellows from the Duke Center for International Development (DCID) for an inspiring knowledge-sharing workshop. The event marked an important step toward strengthening international research collaboration in the field of Green Policy.

More than a routine academic exchange, the workshop served as a meaningful platform for discussions on sustainable development. During the session, the Green Policy research group under GREEN-X and experts from Duke University engaged in in-depth conversations on several ongoing research initiatives being implemented by both sides.

The discussions focused on identifying policy optimization strategies to effectively support green transition efforts, not only in Vietnam but also at the global level. The interaction between the practical experience of senior experts and the innovative perspectives of young researchers brought diverse insights into pathways toward achieving Net Zero goals.

The workshop was honored by the participation of distinguished scholars and researchers. From GREEN-X, attendees included Prof. Edmund Malesky – Scientific Director of GREEN-X and Director of DCID – together with Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Thuc Anh, project leaders, and research assistants from the Green Policy research group. From Duke University, graduate researchers from the Duke Center for International Development also joined the discussions.

The event concluded in an open and collaborative atmosphere, with several new research directions emerging from the exchange. Insights shared during the workshop on green policy implementation and smart governance are expected to lay the foundation for future joint research initiatives, contributing to positive advancements in both academia and policy practice.

The collaboration between VinUni and Duke University once again reaffirms GREEN-X’s commitment to serving as a bridge of knowledge, connecting Vietnam’s green solutions with international standards and global best practices.
