Workshop to Collect Opinions on the Green Transformation Master Plan for Phú Quốc Special Zone

As part of the development of the Green Transformation Master Plan for Phú Quốc Special Zone, a workshop was held with the participation of nearly 90 delegates representing government agencies, departments, businesses, investors, and research institutions.
The workshop was chaired by Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee Hồ Văn Mừng, with the participation of representatives from the VinUni Smart Green Transformation Center (GREEN-X), Assoc. Prof. Phan Thị Thục Anh, alongside experts and the research team responsible for developing the proposal. The event also welcomed representatives from local departments and agencies, the Phú Quốc Economic Zone Management Board, as well as businesses and investors currently implementing projects in Phú Quốc.
Discussions focused on establishing clear action directions for Phú Quốc’s green transformation, particularly in key areas such as green transportation, urban infrastructure, plastic waste reduction, green buildings, sustainable tourism, and implementation mechanisms. Several priority actions were identified for immediate implementation in the coming period.
The workshop also gathered feedback and recommendations to further refine the proposal in alignment with local practical needs and the long-term development orientation of the region.
Through this consultation and proposal development process, GREEN-X continues to work alongside Phú Quốc in shaping a green development pathway that preserves the natural value of the “Pearl Island,” enhances the quality of life for local communities, and advances a more sustainable future.
